"A tool should be an enhancement first and foremost, not a commitment. That’s the thing to ultimately ask when you’re deciding what to acquire, and what to remove: how does this fit me? Choose the things that let you move."
-- Matt Gemmell: Portable.
This is exactly what I have been trying to convey in the gear section. Posts like the Intro, Fight Right, Fight Light, A Rant About Gear and others are tying to explain my philosophy of getting quality gear, but also the fact that you need to get the right gear. This often means cutting down the number of items you get and focus on what you really need. The final message on these posts and others is the fact that simple and light equals freedom, agility and mobility.
