The Arc'teryx LEAF Naga Hoody lightweight insulated base layer for cold temperartures or mid layer for warmer temps. Made of a combination of fabrics, Polartec Power Stretch with Hardface on the sleeves and hood, and a more breathable Polartec Power Stretch on the torso and back, where most likely you'll have a ruck or body armor and need a more breathable fabric. This combination of fabrics helps regulate body temperature provide a lighter weight piece of gear.
The slim fitting hood fits under headgear, or sits cleanly on the back of the neck. It is a good thing to have when the wind comes in.
Seamless torso and back construction reduces friction points and the warmer fleece gives you enough insulation to be ok without overheating.
I've worn this hoody on very demanding climbs and on more static activities like recons and when layered corretly it performs flawlessly.
The thumb loops are a welcome addition, especially if you don't want to wear gloves - you need dexterity - but still want to keep your hands somewhat warm or protected.
Like I mentioned before, the back and front of the hoody is almost seamless. This provides comform when wearing armor or carrying a ruck.
The front pocket is small, but it's a good things to have when you want to keep some small vital items with you.
This is a slim fit garment, designed for athletic built people. What I mean is that, it is tight. If you are a little bigger on the chest or mid-section you might want to get the next size.
Overall I am very happy with it. Especially in Wolf Color. It blends nicely into the urban environment.
Like all Arc'teryx clothing and gear, it is built properly.
Hihgly recommended.
