Get Home Bag - Stashed
A question from NW prompted me to write this post. He asked me about having gear stashed along your commute route for emergencies.
Well, in fact I do. I have a Get Home Bag stashed in a certain location. I'm not going to explain the concept of the Get Home Bag (read it here) or the reasoning behind the modular packing, but to answer NW questions, here's what I have stashed. Well, some of it. Some other things are kept out of this post. Don't disclose all your tricks, right?
Anyway, on top of the post you can see the whole (sort of) loadout. Let's go into details.
Not in pouches, pockets, or otherwise stored:
- Head light (SureFire Minimus)
- Water purification tablets
- Knife (Zero Tolerance 0301)
The reason they are not in pouches is because these items might be needed fast. The same with the minimal ETA Kit (an ITS Tactical EDC Trauma Kit)
Yes, I do have a full trauma kit with me in the car as well.
Now for the rest.
- SERE Kit
- Power charger for the iPhone/others
- LED light
- Mini tool
- Simple lock picking tools
- Mini monocular
- Paracord bracelet
Here's some detailed pics.
Simple and fast.
