Olivers Boxer Briefs
We’ve already featured the Olivers Shorts in the blog. They are the go everywhere, do everything shorts and it's an item that you can find always in our packing list, whether for a project or on business trips. Olivers Apparel recently launched also their Boxer Briefs line. We had the a chance to stress test them on the field, over a period of 2 weeks of harsh, continuous wear conditions, less than purified water washes and constantly on the move.
First of all, these are not your traditional cotton boxers. Olivers ditched cotton as a fabric and replaced it with polyester blend originally manufactured as a base layer for the military. Moisture wicking, and fast to dry, the Schoeller fabric is light weight and - unlike other similar fabrics - doesn't chafe. We wore this non-stop for many days at a time and not once neither of us had any complains about this.
Another feature worth mentioning is the wider than usual waistband. Designed in a way that distributes compression evenly across your body for a fit that stays comfortably flush. Because the fabric has a 4-way stretch, the same fit also applies during intensive activity.
Of course, like the rest of Olivers clothes, the only visible label or logo is inside, which is good. I think this should be the way every brand should do it.
Like I mentioned, we each had 2 or 3 pairs of these, and over 2 weeks we wore them on extreme conditions of movement, long periods of wear and harsh washes. These boxers never smell and other than some stains, they had survived. The stitches, shape and waistband are all intact. We found them to really dry well, and they perform perfectly under Crye Precision pants, soft shell pants and jeans. They do work perfectly when doing exercise when paired with Olivers shorts.
Highly recommended. Frankly, these have become an integral part of our kit.
