I trust 2 brands when it comes to knives. Emerson Knives (link to my review) is one and the other is Benchmade.
Benchmade make extremely fine and quality knives. Their knives are geared towards hard use and abuse and some of the best LE and SOF units rely on them as tools and defensive weapons.

The Adamas replaced my aging Zero Tolerance knife (it served me well) and it's one of the best tacticals knives I've ever owned.
