A few days ago I went to visit our good friends from GORUCK.
GORUCK, if you don't already know, makes the toughest, most durable gear in the world. Founded by Jason, former Army Special Forces. He brings the hard lessons learned during war to gear that can be used in modern cities and in combat zones. GORUCK gear is made in the USA with American materials and by American hands. Quality is above all else.
Search the blog and you will find that a lot of the gear we use is GORUCK.
I was in the area, called Jason and he said: come and have some beers with us. So I did: Beers, BBQ and the Soccer World Cup.
The obligatory pictures of the infamous GORUCK Truck. Eveyone in the early days of the GORUCK Challenge knows this truck and both fears it and loves it.
And the Red Team infiltrated the area... The place looks a little different since my last visit, but the atmostphere is the same. It's a great place to have a good time, meet great people and have the most amazing conversations ranging from gear and the Challenge, philosophy, politics, the military, sports, rock climbing and well, everything in between.
The BBQ was great, and beer was never ending.
Of course, some things are better left with no comments... Like this vegetarian MRE...
Yes, no comments.
It was good to see some old friends and old school GORUCK Tough people. Like I mentioned, topics of conversation were great. Food was good, beer was cold and it was a good time to the sound of the Smashing Pumpkins.
Of course the World Cup was on, so we set the TV and watched it. However, it took all the power of 3 guys (including yours truly) to be able to set and configure the damn TV. I won't go into details, but I opened the Terminal, typed some command foo and we were on!
And the added bonus of the visit? I met Monster, the new Head of State of the GORUCK Nation. He is just great.
It was a great visit.
Now, go to their website and check some of their great gear.
